ABOUT

A unique philosophy

From its beginnings, Absolute Art Gallery chose to make art accessible by eschewing the image of a gallery as a place for art solely for initiates. By opening five spaces in visible locations that are open to everyone in three major Belgian cities, Brussels, Bruges and Knokke, Absolute Art Gallery is following the strategy of going out to meet its clientele. This is a position which enables it to adapt its selection of artists to each location.

This desire to open up the boundaries of art goes hand-in-hand with a desire to offer real support to both the gallery’s clientele and the artists that it represents. To do so, it places strong importance on consultancy, by helping art lovers build their collections so that they make the best choices based on their tastes and not only on the value of the work or the popularity of the artist. Its aim to break away from the image of a purely commercial gallery where investment is the priority combines with its desire to support young artists. From the outset, Absolute Art Gallery made the choice not to just collaborate with artists who are already established but to defend the work of young talent.

In addition to the confidence the gallery shows in the young artists it represents, it endeavours to offer them comprehensive support. A specific feature shared by the artists that the gallery represents lies in the unique techniques designed by each artist and developed over the years.

Benoît Trimborn
En attendant l'orage

Oil on canvas
114 x 146 cm

Absolute Art Gallery presents " Images du monde flottant ", a solo show with the French painter Benoît Trimborn from Sept 21st to Oct. 15th. Opening Weekend of the show during Brussels Art Square 2023.

Benoît Trimborn considers his work "Contemporary Impressionism." Trained as an architect, this artist has a special eye for beauty, detail and light.

For Benoît pure beauty shows itself in nature, in the fascinating relationship between land, water and the sky, powerfully linked to the alternation of the seasons.  Rarely does one find the presence of a human being in his work. Trimborn likes to let the painting speak fully for itself, nothing should disturb the viewer's perspective. The canvas thus becomes the living image of the distinct beauty of nature, without further narrative. These seemingly mundane elements are imaged unsurpassed in the artist's creations, evoking a sense of timelessness and stillness.
